The first day of summer may not officially be until June 21, but for employees at Olson Communications it begins this week with the official launch of Summer Hours. While not an annual guarantee, Summer Hours are an incredibe perk for three months at the agency. Our definition of Summer Hours this year are half-day Fridays with the option of telecommuting. Two caveats: 1) Each employee must still log a 40-hour work week by the time they log off on Friday; and, 2) All employees must be accessible throughout the entire day to teammates and clients.
Work-life balance is one of the tenets at Olson Communications, but perks like Summer Hours show that we also walk that walk. This perk joins a long list of others including flex-schedules, professional development opportunities and more. So while our work-week may end in the early afternoon on a Friday, it's a happy and productive 4.5 days that precede it.
